This week I returned home from the war zone in Doha, Qatar. I was on my way to a long awaited (booked in 2024) trip to Norway to see the Northern Lights. I had a days stop-over in Doha, arriving in the morning and was supposed to fly out that night. Early afternoon the airport and airspace closed. It was the first day of the war.
Apart from missiles being intercepted all around us, our main predicament was deciding whether to wait for the airspace to open and try to get a flight out, along with all the other stranded passengers from all around the world, or to go overland to Saudi Arabia. Getting transport, being in the open and crossing the border with visas to get was a frightening experience, but this is what we did after 8 days.
Michelle at Bucket List Travel was in contact with us every step of the way, helping us and getting new flights and visas which we needed for Riyadh, London and the US which was our route home. Michelle went beyond expectation and worked tirelessly – difficult , as the time zones were opposite to NZ.
Bucket List Travel will definitely be my only travel agent in future and I will sing Michelle’s praises to all who will listen!

Incredible escorted tour to WOW!
Thank you Bucket List for a wonderfully organized tour to WOW escorted by Susan de Alwis. Could not fault anything and the care for my 90 year old mother was very warming. Great group of woman, thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Will definitely be coming back for another tour.

Everything was great, very professionally organised, everything worked as per the itinerary, Viva the company Michelle used for Argentina, provided all the care, transport and guides. Hotels were of an excellent standard. Hurtigruten the cruise company to Antarctica, could not have done more. All my correspondence with Michelle including checking up with me to see if all was ok, was more than I expected. I cannot recommend Michelle highly enough. I have now referred Michelle to my family and friends.

A Sri Lankan escorted tour to remember!
Have just returned from a fabulous escorted tour of Sri Lanka led by Susan De Alwis of Bucket List Travel.
Everything was perfect starting with our lovely local Sri Lankan guide, bus driver and his helper. Little extras like always chilled bottles on board our bus, help on and off the bus, air conditioning and best of all no early morning starts! We had the most amazing accommodation and always had plenty of time to enjoy a relaxed breakfast etc before boarding the bus. We also had 2 nights in quite a few places which gave us plenty of time to enjoy having a look around.
The whole trip was so well thought out thanks to Susan’s careful planning and I wouldn’t change a thing. We had a small group and thanks to Susan made a wonderful team that have kept up our friendships since coming home. Nothing was too hard for Susan.
My sister and I carried on our travel afterwards to the Maldives which was also arranged by Susan and everything was arranged to perfection. Wheelchairs were at all our airports for my sister which was a very big thing and we didn’t have to worry about anything at all.
Can’t sing Bucket lists praises enough and have already booked our next exciting guided tour

Had a very pleasant holiday with well organised travel arrangements across Italy, France, Barcelona and Lisbon by Susan from Bucket List travel.
Provided with detailed itinerary with all relevant details, Travel App was also very useful.
Good hotel locations at all destinations, very central with easy access to sites / restaurants. Hotels chosen were clean, very comfortable, good breakfast included, and had friendly, helpful staff who spoke English.
Transfers to / from airports were well organised.
Day tours organised in Paris, Barcelona and Lisbon were very good with excellent guides.
Would highly recommend Bucket List travel for any travel across Europe
