Itinerary

Day 1. Auckland to Singapore

9 September fly Auckland to Singapore. Transfer from the Airport to the hotel in Singapore.
Stay three nights at Amoy Hotel Singapore or similar.

Day 2. Singapore (B)

Sightseeing tour in Singapore.

Day 3. Singapore (B)

Free day and then fly overnight from Singapore to Prague.

Day 4. Arrive Prague

Transfer to your hotel in the historic centre of Prague.
Later this evening you’ll have the chance to get to know your fellow travellers, Bucket List Travel Tour Leader, and TravelMarvel Tour Director at a Welcome Reception.

Stay three Nights in Prague at the Grandior Hotel

Day 5. Prague (B)

Your exploration of Prague begins with a tour of the World Heritage-listed Old Town.

Travel across the Vltava River to Prague Castle, which dominates the city skyline. Believed to date back to the 9th century, this castle complex – with its network of palaces and churches – is considered the largest in the world.

You’ll then wander across Charles Bridge and arrive in Prague’s Old Market Square. Stop for some time to explore if you wish and continue to discover the incredible city of Prague on your own terms, with its multitude of sights.

Perhaps join an optional tour this evening to a lively traditional Czech folklore dinner and show.

Day 6. Prague (B)

Having become familiar with the layout of Prague, enjoy today at leisure to explore as you please.

The Jewish Quarter is a pulsing hub of Semitic history, so perhaps you’d like to head there, or have your camera ready at the Astronomical Clock, a masterpiece in the Old Town Square.

An optional tour of Terezín is also possible today.

Day 7. Prague, Budapest, Embark Ship (B, D)

Farewell Prague after breakfast as you board your coach and head to Budapest to board your river ship – Capella.

Tonight, enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Reception with your fellow travellers.

Day 8. Budapest (B, L, D)

Awake to views of one of the Danube’s most enchanting cities this morning.
Disembark and learn the vibrant history of Budapest as your local guide takes you to a host of impressive sights, such as the Matthias Church, Fisherman’s Bastion, Heroes’ Square and Buda Castle.

Back on board this evening, enjoy a delightful Gala Welcome Dinner while you cruise.

Day 9. Vienna (B, L, D)

Embrace the elegance of Vienna as you drive around the Ringstrasse, taking in some of the city’s most famous buildings.

On arrival in the centre, a walking tour will provide an insider’s view of sights such as St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Graben and Hofburg Palace Afterwards, maybe visit the Naschmarkt and browse the stalls.

This evening, you could enjoy an optional concert, featuring music from Mozart to ‘The Sound of Music’.

Day 10. Vienna (B, L, D)

With the day at leisure, perhaps explore the Hofburg area or wander along Kärntnerstrasse, the city’s famous shopping strip. Otherwise, embark on an optional excursion to Schönbrunn Palace, or head to former soviet Bratislava.

Day 11. Dürnstein, Melk (B, L, D)

Cruise to the town of Dürnstein and enjoy a stroll past rustic town houses and taverns. Along the way, gaze up to the hilltop ruins of the castle where King Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned.

Cruise through the Wachau Valley to Melk. Alternatively, you may wish to take an optional bike ride from Dürnstein to Melk.
Later tour through Melk Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery since 1089.

Day 12. Aschach, Passau (B, L, D) *

Today, perhaps join an optional tour to Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic or visit Salzburg and enjoy the sights from ‘The Sound of Music’.
Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing sailing day to Passau.

*Insider Experience: Tonight, enjoy a traditional Bavarian experience on board. Sample delicious local beer and snacks, accompanied by folk music, song and dance.

Day 13. Regensburg (B, L, D)

Continue along the Danube River to Regensburg, located in the southern region of the Bavarian Forest. Here, wander along its cobblestone lanes, taking a journey through the ages as you explore the historic streets, medieval buildings and cultural sites on your guided walking tour.

Day 14. Nuremberg (B, L, D)

Arrive in Nuremberg, the site of Hitler’s infamous rallies during World War II.

Take a city tour this afternoon, which includes sights such as the Zeppelin Field and Palace of Justice.

Day 15. Bamberg (B, L, D)

One of the few German cities that wasn’t destroyed during World War II, Bamberg beckons your attention today. You’ll gain great insight during a locally guided tour of the historic city.

Day 16. Würzburg (B, L, D)

Verdant hills and rich vineyards sit on the edge of Würzburg. Admire its magnificent baroque palace, the Würzburg Residence, and walk through Würzburg Court Garden.

Later, perhaps enjoy an optional visit to medieval Rothenburg, a true fairytale town.

Day 17. Miltenberg (B, L, D) *

Today, arrive in the evocative town of Miltenberg. Perfectly positioned at the confluence of the Tauber and Main rivers, Miltenberg is home to charming half-timbered houses and beautiful squares.

Later this evening, enjoy a superb dinner on board.

Day 18. Rüdesheim, Rhine Gorge (B, L, D)

Rüdesheim, the Winzerexpress minitrain will take you to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum.

Later when you are back on board, encounter the spectacular Rhine Gorge.

Day 19. Cologne, Brühl (B, L, D) *

Learn how the twin spires of Cologne’s famous cathedral, the Kölner Dom, took over six centuries to complete as you tour this picturesque city by coach.
You’ll then take a short drive to Brühl for your Insider Experience. 

*Insider Experience: Step back in time during a visit to the World Heritage listed Augustusburg Castle, the lavish residence of archbishop-elector Clemens August.

Day 20. Amsterdam (B, L, D)

Amsterdam’s network of canals are a sight to behold. Dock in the city’s heart and board a glass-top boat to discover its views. Back on land, enjoy some free time before a Farewell Dinner on board.

Day 21. Amsterdam, Disembark Ship, Paris (B)

After breakfast, disembark your ship and board a coach, passing through the beautiful landscapes of the Netherlands and Northern France as you make your way to Paris.

With a three-night stay in Paris, you will have plenty of time to soak in the romantic atmosphere of this beautiful capital.

Day 22. Paris (B)

Paris is the perfect city in which to round out your European journey.

This morning, open the door to some of the city’s best-loved sights on a guided tour, including the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe.

Enjoy the afternoon to further explore Paris at your leisure.

Day 23. Paris (B)

Today, you’re bound to fall head over heels for the ‘City of Love’ during a full day of exploration. 
Will you enjoy a whirlwind romance with the bohemian fervour of the Latin Quarter? Or cement an enduring devotion to the art at the Louvre Museum?

Day 24. Paris (D)

Farewell dinner at the Moulin Rouge.

Day 25. Depart Paris

Fly Paris to Auckland arriving Thursday 3 October.
